Irrelevant is the new title of a novel I am working on. It is semi-autobiographical. Meaning, the names are changed, some of the situations are mixed in together and with different people than what really happened in real life. I have toyed around with this before, but in light of my recent cancer survival, I thought that now was the time to bring it forward. It follows the life of Ben Carlisle, a suicidal depressed young man who eventually ends up with cancer and how he deals with it and those around him. Should be a hoot. Working on chapter 3 as we speak. It will be a nice break from the horror stuff. Jeremiah 19:9-In the begining is the title of the prequel to my zombie novel Zechariah 14:12. In the research stage of this novel. This will be set in the city of Manhattan, KS. On a bio research facility and will be based on the beginning of the R.A.C.-Virus. Should be coming out in the next year. Hoping before 2018. Getting cancer certainly puts motivation into a person. This Friday, August 19th, I will be giving away the kindle edition of my beat poetry book "The Broken Mirror Reflected" until August 21st at midnight. If haven't had a chance to read any of my poetry, be warned that it isn't rainbows and unicorns. The book is the collected works from my previous books "reflectchuns in a broken mirror" and "another shard of glass". They are unedited. It's a big book! Check out the offer this friday on Amazon! In June, the day after my birthday, I couldn't breathe. Went to the ER, in a small rural minnesota town....and they told me I had pneumonia. I have had pneumonia since the middle of December so it was a little concerting for me. They had given me the obligatory chest x ray and antibiotics that any 46 year old man coming in with breathing problems and a harsh cough. But I protested another blow off of antibiotics and a pneumonia prognosis. Thankfully, they decided to do a CT scan and it was discovered that I had a mass on my right lung. So off to a pulmologist I went. They did a PET scan on me and bronchoscopy and then referred me to a lung surgeon/oncologist. The day after independence day I was getting a cancerous chunk of my lung removed. The rest of the time I've been spending recovering. So far they have taken all the cancer out of my body. I go back in 3 months for check up. Last weekend I had a give away promotion for my zombie novel Zechariah 14:12 and sold over 89 copies on Kindle. With the success of that promotion, i plan on holding another this coming weekend for another of my titles. Stay tuned, and get your next title from me for free on your kindle or smartphone.
Like my page on Facebook. Okay, well, close...final edits have been completed, cover has been done and redone and then...redone again. "Nyctophobia" has been submitted today to publishers and hoping for an answer soon. After manuscript and cover have been reviewed, then it is on to Kindle to submit to them. The stories included are: Back Roads: while on book tour through rural Minnesota, author Gerry Daugherty picks up a couple hitchhikers and regrets the hellish ride. Lights in the Sky: a man and his daughter are abducted by aliens. When the father returns it's up to a burned out detective to find out what happened to the daughter. Lucifer's Parade: a reunion in Omaha, Nebraska turns out to be the beginning of the end. Mr. Matthews Checks Out: a man wants to check out and the desk clerk who looks a little like Jim Morrison makes it a little hard for him to complete that task. Kelso's Pump and Go: getting stalled on a desolate interstate in Iowa gets one man invited to dinner. Vegans not apply. Running Alone: an ancient evil awakens and begins to feed on the cattle known as humanity. The Diary of Kathryn Emerson: the sequel to "Zechariah 14:12" as told from the words of our hero's 14 year old daughter. So i have moved out of Hot Dish Hell, MN and back up to the Twin Cities. Much has happened since then. But the quick of the short, or...something like that...New book. Nyctophobia: another anthology of horror is complete. Edits done, just need to compile all those tasty short stories together and be happy with composition and badda bing badda boom....off to the publishers. Should be seeing a publish date in June.
Stay tuned, I will return with more deets! LOVE YAAAAA...... |
